ICE SPICE REACTS AFTER NICKI MINAJ CROWNS HER 'PRINCESS' OF RAP

Ice Spice has reacted after receiving a huge stamp of approval from Nicki Minaj.

The Young Money Queen showed support to the “Munch (Feelin’ U)” star this past weekend by following her on Instagram and jumping into her comments section to crown her the “Princess” of rap.

Ice Spice reacted to Nicki Minaj’s support on Twitter by simply writing: “omg.” Her post was accompanied by an old tweet from 2020 where she rehearsed her response to Nicki following her.

“OMG NICKI JUST FOLLOWED ME AGHHHHH!!! [love heart emoji],” read her tweet from November 2020, which was followed by another tweet that said: “practicing.”

Ice Spice has made no secret of her admiration for Nicki Minaj. “When I saw Nicki, I was so mesmerized,” she said in a recent interview with XXL. “She’s the first female rapper that I seen. And ever since then, I was kinda set on what I wanted to be.”

In a separate interview with ELLE, the 23-year-old named Nicki’s 2014 LP The Pinkprint as an album she has on repeat.

Most recently, Spice referred to the Barbz leader as her “idol” during her aforementioned Rolling Loud California performance. “I’m standing on the same stage where Lil Wayne and my idol Nicki Minaj were less than 24 hours ago, my life is insane,” she reportedly told the crowd.

Despite her embrace of Ice Spice, Nicki Minaj hasn’t always gotten on with the new generation of female rappers. Last year, the “Super Bass” hitmaker became embroiled in a Twitter feud with Latto after her single “Super Freaky Girl” was denied eligibility in the rap categories at the 2023 Grammy Awards.

Nicki argued Latto’s “Big Energy,” which was also built around an ’80s pop sample, should have been bumped into the pop division as well. Her comments sparked a bitter back-and-forth with the Atlanta newcomer that was laced with personal insults and leaked DMs and phone conversations.
